Mumbai, June 24 (CommoditiesControl): Castor seed arrivals in Gujarat markets dipped today due to light morning rain in the North Gujarat region. Despite the lower arrivals, prices remained firm due to sustained demand.
Traders reported approximately 50,000 bags (1 bag = 35 kg) arriving in Gujarat, 10,000 bags from Rajasthan, and 5,000 bags traded directly with mills, totaling roughly 60,000 bags. Prices for castor seeds saw a modest increase of Rs 5, reaching Rs 1120-1135 per 20 kg.
The futures market's stability led millers to maintain current prices. Jagana Sheeperso's price held steady at Rs. 1158, N.K.'s price remained at Rs. 1165, and Kandla's price was unchanged at Rs. 1158-1170 per 20 kg. Castor oil prices also saw no change, with Reddy-Reddy's price on Kandla delivery basis remaining stable at Rs. 1168-1170 per 10 kg.
Despite lower arrivals due to light rain, castor seed prices in Gujarat remained robust, supported by consistent demand. Market stability in futures and minimal price fluctuations from millers further contributed to the steady prices.
