Mumbai, June 29 (CommoditiesControl): Peanut arrivals in Gujarat have declined due to recent rainfall in Saurashtra and North Gujarat regions. This has led to subdued demand and stable prices in the market. The inflow of Mainpuri line peanuts from Uttar Pradesh has also been less than ideal, with traders citing higher prices as a deterrent to trade. Additionally, the lackluster demand for peanut cake and oil has further impacted the overall peanut market sentiment.
In Gondal Mandi, approximately 5600 bags of peanuts were traded out of the total arrival of around 7000 bags. The average quality peanuts were priced at Rs 1151-1241 per 20 kg, while the best quality fetched Rs 1161-1326 per 20 kg. In the new peanut category, 878 bags were traded at Rs 1166-1341 per 20 kg.
Rajkot Mandi witnessed the arrival of 3500 bags of peanuts, with average quality priced at Rs 1180-1240 and best quality at Rs 1190-1260 per 20 kg. Overall, the Saurashtra region received 15000-17000 bags of peanuts.
In the North Gujarat region, Deesa Mandi received 27720 bags of peanuts, with an average price of Rs 1250-1410 per 20 kg. Palanpur Mandi saw the arrival of around 17000 bags priced at Rs 1050-1444 per 20 kg. Panthawada Mandi received 15000 bags, with prices ranging from Rs 1050-1450 per 20 kg. The total arrival of peanuts in North Gujarat amounted to 60000 bags.
The current peanut market in Gujarat is characterized by reduced arrivals, stable prices, and weak demand, primarily due to rainfall and subdued demand for peanut-related products. The market is expected to remain subdued until the weather conditions improve and demand picks up.
