Ahmedabad, June 17 (Commodities Control): Cumin prices saw a slight uptick in Gujarat today, driven by increased demand. Unjha Mandi, the principal center for cumin arrivals in the state, remained open, while most mandis in Saurashtra were closed in observance of Eid. The price of cumin rose by Rs 50 due to this demand.
Traders reported that approximately 11,000 bags of cumin were purchased in Unjha Mandi today. The price of rough cumin ranged from Rs 4,800 to Rs 5,050 per 20 kg. The best quality cumin was priced between Rs 5,350 and Rs 5,450 per 20 kg, while Bombay Bold cumin fetched prices between Rs 5,400 and Rs 5,500 per 20 kg.
The futures market was closed today due to the Eid holiday.
