Mumbai, May 7 (Commodities Control): Clove prices in the domestic market have maintained a stable trend, reflecting consistency in pricing trend. In Kottayam, imported clove prices have remained steady, with Comoros-origin cloves ranging from Rs. 840 to Rs. 860 per kilogram, Madagascar cloves priced between Rs. 850 to Rs. 870, and Sri Lankan-origin cloves commanding prices between Rs. 850 to Rs. 880 per kilogram.
Domestic clove prices in Kottayam have also exhibited stability over the past fortnight, oscillating between Rs. 900 and Rs. 920 per kilogram. This steadiness is attributed to increased imports, which have bolstered the supply chain. Despite the influx of imports, market analysts anticipate a potential uptick in domestic market prices, buoyed by the strong demand. Notably, the sharp increases observed in other spice prices, such as pepper and cardamom, are expected to lend support to clove prices.
Meanwhile, in Shimoga, clove prices have remained unchanged from the previous session, maintaining a range between Rs. 920 to Rs. 940 per kilogram. Additionally, the pricing of clove stems in Kottayam has mirrored the stability trend, holding firm at Rs. 125 per kilogram, aligning with prices recorded in the preceding session.
