Ahmedabad, May 3 (CommoditiesControl): The arrival of new coriander has witnessed a decline in Gujarat, resulting in a price improvement of Rs 5-10 per 20 kg in the market today. Traders attribute this improvement to the reduction in coriander arrivals coupled with limited demand. Additionally, the market has witnessed the arrival of old coriander, further influencing price trends. Across Gujarat, around 22,000 bags of coriander are arriving in the mandis.
In Saurashtra, around 19,500 bags of coriander, each bag weighing 40 kg, arrived today, with an average price ranging from Rs 1360 to Rs 1560 per 20 kg. In contrast, the price of old coriander quoted in the range of Rs 1270 to Rs 1350 per 20 kg. Notable trading activity was observed in Gondal Mandi, where 10,000 bags were traded at Rs 1491-1831, and in Rajkot Mandi, where 2,500 bags were traded at Rs 1155-1555.
Today's arrivals included 700 sacks in Halvad, 600 sacks in Jetpur, 1280 sacks in Jamjodhpur, 1400 sacks in Junagadh, 400 sacks in Amreli, 700 sacks in Jamnagar, and an additional 2000 sacks in other mandis.
